News update, June 2024
As we are approaching summer break, we are excited to share some updates on our activities since the release of our first real datasets in FEGA Sweden in February.
Supporting data submissions
Our repository is gaining traction within the Swedish research community. We are actively working with several research projects that have shown interest in depositing their data in FEGA Sweden. We are preparing to submit their data to our platform to ensure they meet all necessary requirements for secure and compliant data sharing.
Building collaborations
We have initiated contact with some Swedish universities to establish long-term collaborations. These partnerships aim to facilitate the deposition of sensitive research data and streamline data access management. We plan to contact additional universities after the summer break.
Expanding our team
To support our growing operations and initiative, we have recruited new staff members. Their expertise will be invaluable as we continue to enhance our services and support to the Swedish life science research community.
Developing a new metadata model
We are also working on a new metadata model to improve the usability of the data in our repository. This model will facilitate better data discovery and interoperability, enhancing overall research experience. The new metadata model is developed in close collaboration with other nodes in Federated EGA.
If you want to know more about the work, check out the poster presented at the ELIXIR All Hands meeting earlier this month.
Summer availability
Please note that we will have limited availability during July and August. Our response times may be slower than usual during this period, but we will do our best to address any inquiries as promptly as possible.
Thank you for your continued support and understanding. We look forward to sharing more updates in the coming months.
Wishing you a wonderful summer,
The FEGA Sweden Team
